FL black bears are generally seen in 5 major public areas in Florida: Ocala National Forest, Osceola National Forest-Okefenokee Swamp, Apalachicola National Forest, Big Cypress National Preserve, and Eglin Air Force Base. Small populations of occur in the Chassahowitzka NWR and the Highland/Glades county area, and sightings can occur in urban or other areas outside of those indicated above.
